Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2025. This privacy policy explains what data schrodingers.cat collects—including analytics and account data—and how you can control it.
What we collect
- Analytics. We use analytics (e.g. Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site—e.g. pages visited, general location, device type. This helps us improve the product. Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies.
- Account and app data. If you create an account, we store account-related data (e.g. email, display name, profile info) and data you create (e.g. forum posts, argument maps, progress on learning paths) using Supabase. This data is used to provide the service and keep your account secure.
- Technical data. Our hosting and infrastructure may log IP addresses, request timestamps, and similar technical data for security and operation.
How we use it
We use the data above to run schrodingers.cat, personalize your experience, improve our content and features, and protect against abuse. We do not sell your personal data.
Third parties
Analytics are provided by Vercel (e.g. Vercel Web Analytics) and Google (Google Analytics). Account and app data are stored and processed by Supabase. These providers have their own privacy policies and may process data in accordance with their terms.
OpenAI. We use OpenAI to power certain features (e.g. Explore and Socratic dialogue). Content you submit in those features may be sent to and processed by OpenAI. We encourage you to read OpenAI’s privacy policy to understand how they handle data.
Your choices
You can use much of the site without an account. If you have an account, you can update or delete profile information from your dashboard. You can use browser or device settings to limit cookies and analytics. Disabling analytics may affect our ability to improve the site but will not prevent basic use.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
