Philosophy of Love Reflection
Synthesize what you learned about love's types and practices.
Prompts to consider
- Think about a relationship in your own life (romantic, friendship, family, or political). Which typology—eros, philia, agape, storge—best describes it, and where do you see care, commitment, and responsibility (or the lack of them) in how you love?
- Compare Plato's ladder of love with bell hooks' claim that "love is as love does." Which picture better fits your experience of how love grows or fails, and why?
- After working through these readings, what would you most want to change about how love is practiced in your community—at home, in friendships, or in politics—and what open questions do you still have about what *good* love really demands?
